PLDT No Internet Connection: How to Fix and Troubleshoot

PLDT offers various broadband internet services, like fiber internet and DSL. Its fiber internet products are PLDT Home Fiber Unli and Fiber Plus. With PLDT having one of the most subscribers, it also comes with problems that are bound to occur every now and then.

Whether you have WiFi connected but no internet or you're wired via Ethernet to your PLDT Home modem, having no internet connection is an issue you have to fix. Furthermore, you should never find yourself in this situation, especially if you work from home, have a live stream, or play online games. Without an internet connection, you would lose productivity, your audience, and the game, respectively. How to fix PLDT Home Fiber no internet connection issue?

Here's a simple checklist to troubleshoot and fix your internet connection:

No outstanding balance

Make sure that you're up to date with your PLDT account and that you have no outstanding balance. See how to check your PLDT bills online or via SMS. And if this appears to be the problem, you can pay your PLDT bill via GCash, Lazada, Shopee, or other online payment channels.

Power cycle your modem

Turn off your modem for five (5) minutes, and then turn it back on. After restarting, try to reconnect to the internet.

Check for loose or damaged cables

Make sure that your PLDT Fibr modem is properly plugged in, and check if there are any loose or damaged cables. Further, ensure that both ends of the patch cord are properly connected to the small white box with the PLDT logo (called the Inner Optical Outlet) and to the fiber optic slot at the back of the modem. If the patch cord is connected properly, the PON light indicator should be steady green. However, if you find out that you have a damaged cable, get a replacement. Check the lights on your modem

Checking the LED light indicators of your router will help you know the status of your internet connection.

The light indicators of the PLDT Home Fiber modem should look like these when working properly. Note that light indicators may vary per modem. The model of the router shown is FiberHome HG6245D.

The normal state of LED light indicators for other PLDT modems should look like the image below.

To start troubleshooting, turn on your modem and check if the POWER light indicator is steady green.

If you're connected via WiFi, the WLAN 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz light indicator should be solid green or blinking (if there's ongoing data transmission). If not, turn your WiFi (WLAN button) ON by pressing the button located at the side or back of your modem.

If you are using a LAN cable to connect to the internet, the LAN light indicator should be steady green or blinking (if there's ongoing data transmission). If not, verify that the LAN cable is not damaged and that the LAN Card/Ethernet is enabled.

The INT/INTERNET indicator light should be blinking slowly to indicate a successful internet connection or blinking fast if you're actively browsing the web.

If any of the abovementioned light indicators are not in their normal state, turn off your modem for five minutes and then turn it back on to re-sync it with the PLDT network (within three minutes).

Check for an internet outage

It could be that you are not the only subscriber whose internet is down. There are several ways to check the status of PLDT in your area. The most reliable method for checking if your account is affected by a service interruption is via PLDT Tracker.
