Riot Games will be launching its free-to-play FPS game Valorant globally on June 2, 2020, with a confirmation of adding SEA servers. To pave the way to the international release of Valorant, the Closed Beta Test (CBT) will end on May 28.
In the announcement of Valorant on May 21, they had a scene showing the release date in different languages, which includes Thai script at the end. It likely means that there will also be SEA servers to be included, given that Riot has been building their presence in Southeast Asia with their Riot SEA team located in Singapore.
To confirm that there will be SEA servers coming, the developers also specifically mentioned SEA servers when talking about the Vietnam player base.
Adding of SEA servers is very important especially to the players here in Philippines. With no SEA servers available, PH players had to play on high ping on NA/EU/KR servers. But with the inclusion of SEA servers, Pinoy gamers should all be able to play to a low ping server to enjoy the game.
Valorant Closed Beta ends on May 28
Valorant Closed Beta Test (CBT) will end on May 28, 2020, to prepare for the worldwide launch of Valorant, except for some regions like Vietnam, India and Middle East. Closed Beta queues for all regions will exactly end on May 28 at 9:00 AM PT, and the servers will fully go offline at 10:30 AM PT for maintenance.
To those who still haven't gotten closed beta access but were eligible, they'll have an exclusive Twitch/VALORANT player card in their inventory at launch (June 2).
All progression will be reset except for whatever beta testers earned in the Closed Beta player pass, which includes that exclusive gun buddy.
The Valorant Store will undergo maintenance too, players will expect to have their Valorant points to be returned at launch. Regarding store purchases, they won't carry over but player's valorant points will, with a +20% bonus.
Valorant Gameplay
Valorant is a 5v5 competitive tactical shooter from the first-person (FPS) perspective.
In the 'Bomb' game mode, ten players (agents) are divided into two teams, Attackers and Defenders, with the goal of winning the most rounds. In order to win a round, a team must eliminate the opposing team or complete their team-specific Spike objective (Spike Planting/Defusing). First team who reaches 13 rounds, wins the game. Standard game can last up to 30-40 minutes.
Currently, Riot Games have stated they plan on launching Valorant with 12 Agents, with 10 of them currently known: Breach, Brimstone, Cypher, Jett, Omen, Phoenix, Raze, Sage, Sova, and Viper.
Weapons are separated by two categories, Sidearms and Primary weapons, with different classes of weapons, including: Sidearms, SMGs, Rifles, Shotguns, Heavy, Snipers, and Melee.
Players can also buy two types of shields: Light Shields and Heavy Shields.
Unlike weapons, each Agent has their own unique Signature Ability that players get for free each round. They have two regular abilities, charges of which must be purchased between rounds but remain until they are used. They also have one Ultimate Ability that needs to be charged by getting kills.
VALORANT will also be getting a new map, agent, and game mode for its official launch, so watch out for it.
