Honkai Star Rail 2.0 Update to release on February 6, 2024

Honkai Star Rail 2.0 Update is slated for release on February 6, 2024, HoYoverse announced. The latest Honkai Star Rail version 2.0 patch, titled "If One Dreams At Midnight," brings three new playable characters, including Black Swan, Sparkle, and Misha, and a new area, Penacony.

Besides the introduction of new maps, storylines, and companions, Version 2.0 marks the beginning of Penacony's Trailblaze Missions, which will cover versions 2.0 to 2.2. These missions will conclude with epilogues in version 2.3. Honkai Star Rail Version 2.0 Update Overview

The Crew, having explored numerous worlds, including the Herta Space Station, Jarilo-VI, and Xianzhou Luofu, has been invited by The Family to attend the Charmony Festival as esteemed guests in Penacony. The Reverie, an enormous interstellar hotel, is at the heart of Penacony, attracting many interstellar celebrities who seek a luxurious escape. Penacony was previously a frontier prison used by the IPC (Interastral Peace Corporation) to detain criminals, but control of the planet shifted to The Family through various incidents over the years. Today, Penacony has undergone a remarkable transformation and is now a renowned cosmic vacation destination.

Once Honkai Star Rail players enter the hotel, they can use the Dreampool, a unique sleep device, to enter the Dreamscapes. The Golden Hour is one of the liveliest and most popular among the 12 Dreamscapes, and it's not just the first dream in the series. In this realm, joyous dances and songs never stop, and celebrations are endless. While exploring this area, players will discover the Dream's Eye, a charming device that uses visual illusions to connect previously disjointed paths with substantial height differences in an amazing way. Additionally, in subsequent stories, players will gain the ability to Dreamwalk, which allows them to defy gravity and walk on walls and ceilings, providing a unique experience.

The highly anticipated character, Black Swan, is going to make her debut in the story of Penacony. She is a 5-star character who possesses excellent oracle abilities and is also a Memokeeper in the Garden of Recollection. Black Swan has a mysterious and elegant aura and is the first Memokeeper to appear formally in the game. She has a strong desire to explore the memories of others, and through her patient listening and organization, the memories of others transform into cards in her hands.

During combat, when Black Swan uses Basic ATKs or Skills to attack enemies, there is a chance to apply a special stackable DoT (Damage Over Time) effect called Arcana to the enemies. Under the Arcana state, Black Swan triggers additional effects based on the number of Arcana stacks the target has. Furthermore, as the stacks accumulate, the DoT inflicted on the enemy will increase correspondingly.

During The Family's feast, the Trailblazers' team welcomed a new 5-star member named Sparkle. This enigmatic character, also known as the Masked Fool, is committed to finding Elation using any means necessary. She is a master of drama and can change her identity effortlessly, taking on multiple roles using her vast collection of masks. To Sparkle, material possessions like wealth, status, and power mean very little, as only the pursuit of Elation can truly motivate her.

Sparkle's addition to the team has many benefits. Her presence can increase the team's maximum Skill Point, and her unique skill can boost the CRIT DMG of a chosen teammate, as well as Advance Forward that teammate's Action, opening up more strategic options in battle. After using her Ultimate skill, Sparkle can restore multiple Skill Points for the entire team at once. Her arrival has not only enhanced the team's Skill Points but also increased their ability to deal damage.

A local resident of Penaconia named Misha is making his debut as a 4-star character. He works as a doorman at The Reverie and dreams of becoming a cosmic adventurer, just like his grandfather. Misha is passionate about learning about various interstellar experiences that the hotel guests share and eagerly anticipates the day he can embark on a journey to explore the stars.

During battles, Misha's Ultimate ability will inflict more DMG when the squad uses more Skill Points. Moreover, Misha's Ultimate has a chance to Freeze the target, making him a dependable team member.

Further, it's worth noting that in Version 2.0 of Honkai Star Rail, two old friends from Xianzhou will reunite with the Trailblazer. The limited 5-star characters Dan Heng - Imbibitor Lunae and Jing Yuan will appear in the first phase and second phase of Version 2.0's event wrap, respectively.

A set of system optimizations has been introduced to provide Honkai Star Rail players with a more convenient gaming experience. Firstly, a new feature called Fate's Atlas has been launched to record the events and plot lines that occur in each world in chronological order. This helps players better organize the narrative context of each world. Additionally, the process of enhancing Relics has been thoroughly optimized. Players can now easily insert materials while upgrading and elevate each Relic to the desired level. This new version also includes Relic set recommendations tailored for different characters, allowing players to filter and switch Relic sets efficiently based on their needs. Lastly, the marking, discarding, and salvaging of Relics have been optimized to help players find materials efficiently and improve their gaming experience.

Version 2.0 of Honkai Star Rail is scheduled for release on February 6, 2024. The game is now available on various platforms: PC, iOS, Android, Epic Games Store, and PS5.
