Design and Build Quality
The color of the OPPO Reno10 5G we have is Silvery Grey. Built on the OPPO Glow process, Silvery Grey uses the microscopic crystal structure as an overlay for the gray base color, creating a calming and soothing metallic texture and a premium hand feeling. It is comfortable to hold the phone even with one hand.
The design of the OPPO Reno10 5G isn't striking, but the capsule-shaped camera island, especially the part with a CD pattern metal, does stand out. This camera design, according to OPPO, is called Camera Matrix. The Camera Matrix of Reno10 5G is made up of two parts. The upper half is made of metal in the shape of a CD, which holds the main camera and LED flash. The Telephoto Portrait Camera and Wide-angle Camera are in the bottom part, which is made of black glass.
The Ultra Slim Body design makes the Reno10 5G light and easy to hold. It weighs about 185g and is about 7.99mm thick. On top of that, the Reno10 5G has a 3D Curved Design with a 56° curved front screen and a 3D back cover that not only makes the overall effect sleek and well balanced.
Display Quality
The 6.7-inch AMOLED 3D Curved Screen on the Reno10 5G is protected by AGC Dragontrail Star 2 glass, which is up to 20 percent stronger than Corning Gorilla Glass 5 when it comes to drop resistance.
With tiny 1.57mm bezels on the left and right and a thin 2.32mm bezel on the bottom, the Reno10 5G has a huge 93 percent screen-to-body ratio for a seamless, full experience.
The screen on the Reno10 5G has a super high refresh rate of 120Hz, delivering a much smoother visual experience compared with screens with refresh rates of 60Hz or 90Hz. Regardless of whether you're in the High or Auto refresh rate mode in Settings, the screen's refresh rate will drop to 60 hertz when idle to save power.
Further, the high-resolution 2412x1080 screen can show up to 1 billion different colors at an HDR brightness of 950 nits. This lets you see smooth color transitions that are bright and clear.
As expected from an OLED display, you get excellent contrast and deep blacks. Also, OPPO Reno10 5G has great color accuracy if you go for the right color mode. There's also support for 10-bit color and HDR10+ video.
Speaker Quality
For audio, OPPO Reno10 5G has dual stereo speakers tuned by Dirac Audio. There's a speaker grill at the top and bottom.
The Dual Stereo Speakers produce a high-quality stereo sound that is improved by algorithms optimized for noise reduction and echo suppression.
The Ultra Volume Mode of the speaker improves the clarity of high-pitched sounds without making them sound distorted. When using the earpiece or speakers, it can boost the volume by 200% without affecting the quality of the sound.
Hardware and Software
For biometric input, the OPPO Reno10 5G has an under-display optical fingerprint reader. It's quite fast and accurate.
Reno10 5G is equipped with a big 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, as well as an SD card expansion slot for additional storage. By activating OPPO's RAM Expansion mode, the Reno10 5G can convert up to 8GB of unused ROM storage into temporary RAM to improve its performance. To extend your RAM, go to Settings > About Device > RAM, toggle the switch button for RAM expansion (it will turn blue when enabled), and choose among the options: 4 GB, 6 GB, and 8 GB. You'll then be notified to restart the phone to apply changes.
The 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 7050 5G octa-core processor delivers powerful and dependable performance with a CPU speed of up to 2.6 GHz, providing Reno10 5G with everything it needs to deliver solid performance with enhanced battery efficiency.
The Dynamic Computing Engine of OPPO is a set of system-level optimizations intended to enhance computing performance. This time, OPPO collaborated with Google to develop the most comprehensive Android memory underlay reconstruction in the industry to date. Now, memory access performance can be dynamically adjusted to up to 16 times the previous capacity, enabling the phone to transmit more data and run intensive mobile apps more efficiently. Through refined scheduling and allocation of memory resources, the Reno10 5G is able to support the concurrent operation of multiple apps without slowing down.
The 5,000mAh battery on Reno10 5G supports 67W SUPERVOOC charging tech, which can quickly charge the device from 0 to 100 percent in only 47 minutes. The battery will retain 80% of its capacity after four years of use (1,600 charge cycles).
Regarding the interface, Reno10 5G runs OPPO's Color OS 13.1 on top of Android 13. It's among the more deeply customizable interfaces out there. Further, it got an IR blaster feature, so you can use the phone to control appliances like air conditioners, TVs, set-top boxes, and other infrared-enabled electronic devices. To access this feature, just open the IR Remote app.
Reno10 5G can be seamlessly connected to other devices, such as a PC or a tablet, via Multi-Screen Connect, allowing you to operate on multiple screens simultaneously with ease. Once devices are connected, they can take advantage of clipboard sharing, notification synchronization, continuous screencasting, reverse control, and file transfer.
With the Smart Always-On Display, you can control Spotify and monitor food delivery apps such as Zomato and Swiggy without unlocking the phone. The Smart AOD provides real-time notifications that check the status of your order, so there is no need to repeatedly view the screen to see if your food has been picked up or delivered. To enable this feature, go to Settings > Wallpapers & Style > Always-On Display and switch the toggle button. From there, you can customize your preferred designs.
With a single click, the Auto Pixelate feature can automatically recognize and pixelate sensitive information such as profile photos and names on your chat screenshots, sparing you the time of manually hiding the information yourself. Now, it is simpler than ever to share your chats with your friends without exposing too much private information.
Antutu Score
Regarding our performance test on OPPO Reno10 5G, we used the Antutu Benchmark app version 10, with separate results for the phone's refresh rates modes: 60Hz and 120Hz.
With the 60Hz refresh rate enabled, OPPO Reno10 5G recorded 569,507 points. Here's the breakdown of this Antutu score: 166,879 (CPU), 139,384 (GPU), 122,974 (MEM), and 140,270 (UX).
With the 120Hz refresh rate enabled, OPPO Reno10 5G achieved 566,518 points. Here's the breakdown of this Antutu score: 166,351 (CPU), 139,436 (GPU), 120,886 (MEM), and 139,845 (UX).
Surprisingly, OPPO Reno10 5G registered a better Antutu score when the 60Hz refresh rate was turned on compared to the 120Hz refresh rate.
For gaming, we tested Mobile Legends and experienced no frame drops at all. Since there's no lag, all taps are accurate, making it easy to do combo skills.
Camera Quality
Reno10 5G features a triple rear camera system with a 64MP Ultra-Clear Main Camera, a 32MP Telephoto Portrait Camera with a Sont IMX709 sensor, and a 112° 8MP Ultra-Clear Wide-angle Camera. On the display's top-centered punch-hole, there's a 32MP Ultra-Clear Selfie Camera. Check out the photos taken with this phone.
Reno10 5G provides you with all the tools you need to take fantastic photos at the touch of a button, regardless of whether you're shooting in dim or bright environments or trying to capture a close-up or far-away view.
Reno10 5G supports ultra-high resolution video at up to 4K on the Main Camera, giving your video content greater clarity and richer details.
The 32MP Telephoto Portrait Camera comes equipped with a 2X optical zoom, a large RGBW IMX709 sensor, and a high resolution.
The RGBW pixel array increases the overall light intake by 60% and reduces image noise by 35% compared to conventional RGGB sensors. This enhanced light intake enhances the Telephoto Portrait Camera's image quality, making it simpler to capture more image information regardless of the lighting conditions.
The IMX709 2X Telephoto Portrait Camera incorporates a newly upgraded 47mm 2X optical zoom lens. This places it in close proximity to the classic 50mm portrait standard, so portraits captured with the Telephoto Portrait Camera appear extremely professional. The long telephoto focal length also compresses people and space within images to make portrait subjects stand out, just as they would in portraits taken by a professional photographer.
On the lens, BG spin-coating was used to generate an infrared light-absorbing film that reduces veiling glare and improves image clarity.
Portrait Mode on the Reno10 5G allows you to freely modify the aperture between F1.4 and F16. You are able to adjust the quantity of bokeh and bokeh flare to create portraits that are uniquely yours.
Portrait Mode generates one of the most realistic portrait effects ever seen on a smartphone, allowing you to take portraits that appear professional with a single click.
The Front Camera of the Reno10 5G features an OV32C image sensor with f/2.4 aperture and a 22mm equivalent focal length, allowing you to take clear photos by simply tapping the screen.
Final Thoughts
OPPO Reno10 5G has a great screen, superb cameras, a trendy design as well as, very fast charging tech. There's no 3.5mm headphone jack, though. For common smartphone tasks such as calling, texting, web browsing, and online gaming, its performance is satisfactory. The phone's portrait camera is its unique selling point. If you're more into photography, Reno10 5G is for you.
