Samsung has launched its newest flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and the Galaxy S23 Ultra with S-Pen. Check out their specs, features, and price in the Philippines.
Samsung enhanced the primary hardware and software features of the Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus, but no notable changes were made compared to the S22 series. Both are powered by the latest Qualcomm chipset, a bespoke one, namely, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy. This custom chipset has faster clock speeds than the other SD 8 Gen 2 processors on the market. Moreover, the phones are available in a variety of storage configurations, but the RAM is fixed at 8GB. Both devices run on Android 13 OS with the One UI 5.1 skin on top.
For displays, both Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ retained the flat Dynamic AMOLED 2X screens with FHD+ resolution (1080 x 2340 pixels) and up to 120Hz refresh rate (240Hz touch sampling rate in Game Mode). The former has a size of 6.1 inches, while the latter has a bigger display of 6.6 inches. They also come with improved glass protection for both front and back, which is now using the next-gen Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
For display features, there's the Vision Booster, which now adjusts at 3 levels of lighting instead of 2 to combat brightness and glare in daylight. Meanwhile, the Enhanced Comfort feature enables users to adjust color tones and contrast levels, lessening eye strain from screen time at night.
For cameras, Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus still have 50MP + 12MP + 10MP triple rear camera modules. The Camera RAW app can now capture full 50MP resolution images. For the upgrade, the selfie camera is now at 12 MP, with video recording capabilities that support Super HDR at 60fps.
The batteries of the S23 and S23+ are 200mAh larger than those of their predecessors, bringing their total capacities to 3,900mAh and 4,700mAh, respectively. Both devices support wireless charging, but their fast wired charging capabilities differ, rated at 25W and 45W, respectively.
On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is also powered by the latest and fastest chipset to date, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. It features a whooping 200MP (ISOCELL HP2 sensor) main wide camera, 12MP ultra-wide lens, a 10MP periscope telephoto with 10x optical zoom, and a 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. On the front, there's a 12MP selfie camera. In addition, there is a dedicated Expert RAW app, a mode inside the native camera app, for more professional tools.
