2022 is a year filled with many happenings, news, stories, events, and trending topics, that are commonly recorded through the internet and can be searched with a few clicks. In the Philippines, one of the most popular search engines used is Google because of its exciting features and user-friendly interface. Before the year ends, Google Philippines released its Year in Search 2022, an annual list of the top trending searches in the country. The list consists of topics that clearly show Filipino netizens' passion for politics, games, sports, celebrities, movies and TV shows from South Korea, among others.
The list of Overall Trending Searches, which is the overall top trending searches for 2022 in the Philippines, was topped by Halalan, presidential and vice presidential elections that were held on May 9. It was followed by VaxCertPH, a portal where people can get their COVID-19 digital vaccination certificate. Election-related search term, precinct finder, took the third spot. English-language word game Wordle came in fourth place. Meanwhile, the South Korean Series All of Us Are Dead ranked fifth.
The Google PH Trends Year in Search 2022 consists of different categories, including Overall Searches, News, Korean series, Sports-related, TV shows or series, Song lyrics, Games, Male personalities, Female personalities, Movies, and Losses.

1. Halalan 2022 – The Philippine presidential and vice presidential elections were held as part of the 2022 general election on May 9. Former senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos won as the president, and Davao City mayor Sara "Inday Sara" won as the vice president.
