When attempting to play the game, numerous players encounter different errors. The following list provides solutions for some of the most common error codes encountered by players.

List of Minecraft Error Codes and How to Fix Them

Here are some error codes you may encounter in Minecraft, along with their corresponding solutions.

Multiplayer Errors

These are issues you will only encounter when you're online or trying to log in/out of a server.

Connection refused: connect

• To solve this error, confirm if you've entered the correct server address. Restart the server and check for errors.

Creeper

• Ensure that your connection is stable and that it is properly configured.

Crossbow

• Before attempting again, try restarting the game and/or letting it sit idle for a few minutes.

Drowned

• Fully close Minecraft, reset your device and attempt to log in again.

End of stream

• Close and relaunch Minecraft and attempt to log in again.
• Try to restart the server (if you have access to the server's console).
• Check that the server and your client have a clear connection.

Failed to login: Bad Login

• To fix this error, confirm that you're running the right version of Minecraft for the server you want to connect to.
• Check your network connection and your ping (delay) time. Your client may be disconnected because the network's response time is too slow.

Failed to login: invalid IP

• Try to log in again once validation services have resumed normal operation.

Marketplace Errors (L-, D-, S- or P-)

• You can only wait for the server to fix the issue and try again later.

• In the Minecraft Launcher, change the version to the one utilized by the server using the Profile Editor.

Failed to check session lock, aborting

• Delete the "session.lock" file in the world save folder (contact an administrator if you aren't one and explain the situation).

java.lang.NullPointerException
