vivo T series is the latest addition to the mobile brand's upper mid-range premium lineup of smartphone devices equipped with turbo-driven performance, appearance, and camera. This new lineup aims to bring value-for-money smartphone devices that can keep up with the digital lifestyle.

In the vivo T series, there are two smartphones: the vivo T1x 4G and the vivo T1 5G. Today, we'll review the more affordable smartphone in the series, the vivo T1x (Gravity Black). Before we go to the unboxing and review, let us check its specs first.

Design

Vivo T1x 4G incorporates a shiny frosted design. Despite having a massive battery, it is compact, measuring only 8mm thick. With a flat back and 2.5D flat frame, it is comfortable to grip.

However, this smartphone is prone to dust and fingerprint marks, so it is recommended to use the phone case included in the box. Also, in the back is a rectangular camera bump placed in the upper left corner.

On the right side, there's a fingerprint scanner (that doubles as a power button) and a volume button. At the bottom, there's a speaker, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microphone, and a USB-C port. On the top side, there's a triple card slot for two nano-SIM cards and a dedicated microSD card for up to 1TB.

Display

The device's 6.58-inch IPS LCD screen with a 2408 x 1080px resolution and a pixel density of 401ppi gives a larger field of view and rich colors.

It got slim bezels on the sides but is slightly thicker on the bottom. Its mini drop notch houses the 8-megapixel selfie camera. Above it is the earpiece.

Camera

Vivo T1x's camera department is comprised of triple rear cameras (f/1.8 50MP main + f/2.4 2MP depth + f/2.4 2MP macro) and an 8MP front camera on its dewdrop notch. Check out the photos taken with this phone. The first photo is set on the photo mode (default), and the next one with Super Macro mode enabled.

Super HDR, multi-layer portrait, panorama, slow motion, live photo, super night mode, and more modes are available in the camera app. Additionally, it supports up to 1080p@30fps video recording. You can record videos with clear details.

Software and Performance

Regarding its specs sheet, the vivo T1x is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G octa-core processor paired with an Adreno 610 GPU, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W FlashCharge. The battery is backed by VEG technology, which prevents the smartphone from being overcharged and provides efficient energy and thermal management.

Software-wise, it runs on an Android 12 OS skinned with Funtouch OS 12, which has a clean interface and smooth animations.

vivo T1x 4G achieved 259,432 points in the Antutu Benchmark. Here's the breakdown of its Antutu score: 81,331 (CPU), 37,958 (GPU), 69,355 (MEM), and 70,788 (UX).

The battery and CPU temperatures were recorded at 38.7 degrees Celsius and 46.5 degrees Celsius, respectively.

vivo T1x gaming (with Ultra Game mode) - Mobile Legends

On gaming, vivo T1x 4G performed well. We tested Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and experienced a super smooth performance, with no lags at all. Thanks to its Ultra Game Mode. The mobile game also launched and ran faster due to ART++ Turbo (a function that requires an internet connection), which is part of vivo's Multi-Turbo gaming mode.

On top of that, the device's 6.58-inch LCD display with a Full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate bring a vibrant and silky smooth viewing experience. You can enjoy every entertainment app, may it be binge-watching videos on YouTube, playing your favorite games, or browsing social media.

The Extended RAM feature, which uses 1GB of the phone's internal storage to provide a total of 5GB RAM, gives a boost to the phone's overall performance.

Connected to a 200 Mbps WiFi connection, vivo T1x 4G only registered 52 Mbps internet speeds.

Final Thoughts

The vivo T1x delivers everything you would expect from a smartphone with its decent specifications and price. For common smartphone tasks such as calling, texting, online gaming, web browsing, etc., its performance is quite efficient. The phone's camera lacks versatility but is adequate for general photography. Moreover, the Multi-Turbo gaming mode ensures that games run without lag. If you are on a tight budget, the phone could be a good option.
