- Log in to your PayMaya account. Access the menu by clicking the 3-line icon in the upper left corner. Next, select UPGRADE MY ACCOUNT.
- Fill out the required information and ensure you have at least one (1) valid Primary ID or two (2) valid Secondary IDs. Make sure that the Name (First Name and Last Name) and Birthday you will enter in the Upgrade Application form are the same in the Valid ID you will going to upload.
- Next, record a guided video selfie and submit it.
- You may monitor the status of your upgrade application by clicking on the CHECK MY UPGRADE STATUS in the menu of the app.
- Once it is approved, you will receive SMS confirmation within 24 hours and see a green verified checkmark beside the profile icon and your name.
How to buy cryptocurrency on PayMaya?
Follow these simple steps to buy cryptocurrency using your PayMaya app:
- Login to your PayMaya app, go to the homepage, and select Crypto.
- Tap the Buy button at the bottom part of the screen, then select your desired cryptocurrency.
- Input the amount of Philippine Pesos (PHP) you want to spend. You'll see an equivalent cryptocurrency value based on an expected market price. After that, tap Next on the upper right part of the screen.
- A Confirm Purchase tab will appear, showing the amount of PHP you will spend and the number of cryptocurrencies you will receive through this transaction. After reviewing the details, you may confirm your purchase and slide to buy.
That's it! You've successfully purchased a cryptocurrency. The cryptocurrency you bought will be reflected in your portfolio, along with its current Peso value.
How to sell cryptocurrency on PayMaya?
After you purchase cryptocurrency through PayMaya, you can also sell it to convert it to cash. Follow the step-by-step guide below.
- Go to the PayMaya dashboard and select Crypto.
- On the PayMaya Invest main screen, tap the "Sell" button, then select the cryptocurrency you want to sell.
- Select a percentage value for selling a portion of your current asset. You'll see the equivalent PHP value based on a market pricing estimate. Then, tap the Next button on the upper right corner of the screen.
- A Confirm Sale tab will appear, displaying the amount of cryptocurrency you'll be selling and the amount of PHP you'll receive through this transaction. Once you've reviewed the details, you may confirm your purchase and slide to sell.
Afterward, you'll receive a digital transaction slip, and the money will be deposited into your PayMaya account. You can go to your app's home screen and check the amount.
PayMaya Invest also allows you to input your desired PHP value. This way, you don't have to compute or convert how much cryptocurrency you need to sell to get the amount of cash you want.
Another thing to remember is that, as of the moment, you may only sell cryptocurrencies purchased through PayMaya Invest.
