Lenovo Legion has finally unveiled its next-generation gaming PCs, which are packed with innovative features and designed to provide users with more stylish and high-performance experiences. The newest edition of gaming devices by Lenovo include Legion 5, Legion 5 Pro, and Legion 7 notebooks.
With AMD Ryzen 5000 H-series Mobile Processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3000 Series GPUs, the new arsenal embraces innovation by providing higher-resolution displays, AI-assisted thermal cooling, and framerate customization.
Lenovo Philippines president and general manager Michael Ngan said, "Our latest Legion devices are battle-ready to let users easily breeze through the most demanding requirements for work and play. Continuing on the promise of innovation and smarter technology for all, the new PCs enable seamless play using technologies such as AI to make the most out of the instant responsiveness and accelerated performance from AMD and NVIDIA's newest gaming processors. Together with the help of our strategic partners, we are in a fantastic position to further build a gaming reputation based on continuous innovation."
Below are some of the main highlights of Legion 5, Legion 5 Pro, and Legion 7.
AMD Ryzen 5000 H-series Mobile Processors
The brand new Legion 5, Legion 5 Pro, and Legion 7 notebooks are the first to feature AMD Ryzen 5000 H series Mobile Processors. These are the world's only processors with eight high-performance cores explicitly designed for ultrathin gaming notebooks. Based on AMD's new Zen 3 Core Architecture and the world's most advanced x86 chip technology, the processors combine great efficiency, elite performance, and long-lasting battery life.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3000 Series GPUs
The gaming-oriented AMD Ryzen 5000 H-series Mobile Processors are complemented by the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3000 Series GPUs, which have been designed to deliver the ultimate gaming performance. These graphics cards feature all-new internals, including the award-winning NVIDIA Ampere architecture, 3rd Generation Ray Tracing Cores, 2nd Generation Tensor Cores, as well as streaming multiprocessors to deliver the most lifelike graphics ever created, as well as cutting-edge AI to fine-tune art to the smallest detail. Additionally, they include NVIDIA DLSS 2.0 Technology, which leverages AI to boost the laptop's performance when playing graphics-intensive games. For example, booting up Cyberpunk 2077 with DLSS Technology improves performance by up to 60%.
Smarter Technology by Lenovo
All Legion 5, Legion 5 Pro, and Legion 7 include the Lenovo Legion AI Engine that supports the top-16 AAA games and allows them to run as smoothly as ever. The engine overclocks PC performance by combining best-in-class hardware, software, and machine learning. When a game is started, the Legion AI Engine detects and routes the optimal Thermal Design Power (TDP) settings to the processor and GPU to reach the highest possible frames per second (FPS) in games. Additionally, it utilizes machine learning in other games to optimize gaming performance continuously.
Moreover, the new Legion lineup incorporates AI into the Coldfront 3.0 thermal management system, which helps keep the interior cooler as gaming action heats up. Coldfront 3.0 features an intelligent intake system that boosts airflow by up to 18% over the previous generation by using turbocharged dual fans and quad-channel exhausts with vapor chamber technology. Coldfront 3.0 moves massive volumes of air through components to rapidly dissipate heat, enabling optimized performance and long-lasting battery life.
The world's first 16" QHD gaming notebooks
The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro and Legion 7 are the world's first gaming laptops to feature 16-inch Quad High Definition (QHD) displays. When combined with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz, a color gamut of 100 percent sRGB, and a brightness of 500 nits, gamers have a cinematic-like experience that also aids in competitive gaming. The larger display improves a gamer's sightlines and field of view, allowing them to detect enemies more quickly. Additionally, both the Legion 5 Pro and Legion 7 displays feature a 3ms response time and are VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified and Dolby Vision and NVIDIA G-SYNC compatible.
Nahimic Audio
The Harman speakers in the new Legion lineup have been optimized with Nahimic Audio. Nahimic is a gaming headset that provides a competitive edge through 360-degree audio and features, including Night Mode coupled with smart volume reduction and Sound Tracker, which visually indicates the source and direction of a sound in a game. Nahimic Audio also features a background noise suppression feature that enables crystal-clear video calls and Sound Sharing, allowing audio to be streamed from a PC to two different headsets without audio adapters.
Reinforced Support
Lenovo's enhanced Vantage software boosts performance in Legion 5, Legion 5 Pro, and Legion 7. They now include Vantage Smart Performance Services, which minimizes PC downtime by scanning for, detecting, and removing spyware, malware, and adware traces. Additionally, gamers can use the new solution to significantly reduce lag and latency issues associated with online multiplayer games by resolving network and access issues.
Lenovo Vantage's 3-Year Premium Care warranty service, which is included with the notebooks upon purchase, helps in enabling seamless play between the new devices. The service comprises solutions that deliver an advanced and customized level of care, minimizing downtime, increasing efficiency, and keeping customers moving. Premium Care subscribers can take advantage of a 24-hour direct line to Specialized Senior Technicians, extensive hardware and software support, and an annual health check of PC.
