WoW Shadowlands Expansion Is Now Live

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands expansion is officially live. The path to seize own destiny in the afterlife starts today with the launch of Shadowlands, the eighth expansion of the acclaimed massively multiplayer online role-playing game by Blizzard Entertainment.

The heroes of the Horde and the Coalition will come face-to-face with the mysteries of death in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands as they travel into the wondrous realms of the next world. They will forge a fate-changing alliance along the way with one of the four governing Covenants of the Shadowlands, drawing on their otherworldly strength to challenge the Jailer's powers, the malevolent entity that maintains control over the Maw's hopeless depths.

The launch of Shadowlands follows a series of recent WoW game updates designed to make it easier for new and returning players to share in the fun than ever before. New players can experience an all-new introductory adventure on the island of Exile's Reach that teaches them what it takes to be an Azeroth champion, including quests that highlight their chosen class's abilities and a two-boss mini-dungeon that imparts the basics of group-based play. When new players exit the island, they will be able to proceed straight into Combat for Azeroth, the most recent expansion of the game, where they will advance to level 50 in preparation for joining the Shadowlands.

As with previous expansions, players who want one of their new or lower-level characters to be ready to instantly cross the threshold of death can use a Shadowlands-level Character Boost, included in the expansion's Heroic and Epic Versions or available as a standalone purchase (details below).

Pledge Yourself to a Covenant. This ever-changing, rogue-like challenge is open to solo players and groups of up to five, and those who brave their trials will win materials of their choice for commissioning rune-carved legendary equipment.
