Android hidden codes are very useful when you want to access some information on your phone or do testing and troubleshooting. But usually, phone companies don't include these USSD secret codes in their manuals. To understand more about this, let us define USSD first. USSD code is the abbreviation of Unstructured Supplementary Service Data, sometimes referred to as "Quick Codes" or "Feature codes" but commonly known in the Philippines as "Dial Code." It is an extra-UI protocol, which allows people to access hidden features or menu of the phone as well as the available services of a SIM card.
In the Philippines, telcos like Globe, TM, Smart, TNT, and Sun have their unique USSD code to provide subscribers a way to access their promos and services. The usual dial code format is 3-number, attached usually with * (asterisk) at the beginning and # (number sign) at the end. For Globe and TM, it's *143#, while for Smart, TNT, and Sun, it's *123#.
It's also the same way to access hidden menus of our Android phones. Using our phone dialer app, we need to input the codes, usually begin and end with the * or # keys with a sequence of numbers in between. Just be careful; you could lose data or damage your device. Be sure that you have enough knowledge of the USSD hidden menu you're going to access.
The usual way to test the menu code is by dialing *#*#4636#*#*, and probably the rest of the codes might work for your smartphone.
To access more Android hidden menus, you can enable Developer Options of your smartphone. To do this, go to Settings, then to About phone (or System > About phone), find the Build (or version) number and tap it 7 times, and when you're done, you will see a message "You are now a developer!" You will find the Developer Options in System or directly in the Settings menu, or just search Developer Options in your Settings' search bar. Here you can activate Debug Mode, manage Bluetooth, configure the animation scales, the notch, the background apps, and many more.
